Virée classique OSM
From August 13 to 17, reconnect with Nature while you revel in the sounds of classical music!
Evocations and imitations of nature are an endless source of musical inspiration. This year’s extremely diversified programming features iconic works including Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony, Debussy’s La mer, Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons, Holst’s The Planets, and Saint-Saëns’ Carnaval des animaux.
The OSM Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Rafael Payare, will be joined by world-renowned artists—pianist Martin Helmchen, cellist Marie-Elisabeth Hecker, mezzo-soprano Beth Taylor, bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green—as well as Canadian artists, including OSM Concertmaster Andrew Wan, conductor Dina Gilbert, and the Ensemble Obiora. Also taking part in this immensely unifying celebration of music are several young, emerging musicians, OSM Competition winners, and, of course, amateur musicians.
