Celebrating the most intimate of art forms
Literature is a catalyst for reflection and wonder, appealing to young and old alike. It is universal and accessible, with the power to bring children moments of joy and wonderment, and prompt older readers to reconsider their own ideas. It is a vital part of Place des Arts’ rich programming, and combines with other performing arts forms to produce singular experiences. The Sons et Brioches matinée series, aimed at children age 2 to 8, wonderfully blends the art of storytelling with music to create moments of magic.
For older readers, the annual Festival International de Littérature (FIL) features varied events celebrating the world of writing. Public readings, get-togethers with literary artists and themed discussion evenings give audiences special insights into their favourite stories and authors, transposing a wealth of ideas from the page to their everyday.
