The Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal (ONJ) revisits Charlie Parker with Strings, the legendary 1950 album on which BIRD fused bebop and string orchestra.
Under the direction of Samuel Blais, Montreal's finest alto saxophonists will dialogue with the string ensemble, reinterpreting standards such as Just Friends and April in Paris. This intimate concert (350 seats), combining jazz energy and classical elegance, transcends mere recreation to become a dialogue between eras, blending respect for heritage and modernity. The ONJ will capture Parker's visionary spirit while infusing it with a contemporary sensibility, thanks to ideal acoustics. A bold tribute from one of Canada's finest jazz ensembles.
