The Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal (ONJ), conducted by Marianne Trudel, pays tribute to the great female jazz composers in an exceptional concert.
The program celebrates historic figures such as Mary Lou Williams and Toshiko Akiyoshi, as well as contemporary voices such as Maria Schneider, Satoko Fujii, Anna Webber and Trudel herself. This musical journey explores the evolution of jazz for women, from bebop rhythms to avant-garde explorations and majestic orchestrations.
