September 1940. Penniless and far from his family, Henri Marre arrives in Vichy, determined to find his place within Pétain's new regime at all costs.
In his suitcase lies Notre Salut, the patriotic treatise he self-published and whose credo — "gaining in efficiency" to lift France out of its rout — may well serve, above all, to conceal his own. Winner of the award for Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival, this second feature from Emmanuel Marre (Zero Fucks Given) is as brilliant as it is irreverent, freely inspired by the letters of his own great-grandfather. Swann Arlaud (The Great Arch) is formidable as an ordinary cog in the machinery of collaboration.
