From his bedroom window, a middle-aged man watches a magnolia tree bloom. Amid a visit to the doctor, picking out an urn and a walk in the woods with his grandson, he thinks, has doubts and sings. Driven by a quest for something greater than himself, he turns to words and music to make peace with what was and catch a glimpse of what may come next.

It’s Richard’s 40^th birthday. The entire Dubé family is gathered in the backyard of his bungalow to celebrate. 

Invited onto a television set, Rousse gets the surprise of her life: the team has planned a live reunion with her brother, whom she hasn’t seen for 29 years.
