Dance for and by all
Festival Quartiers Danses was officially founded in 2000 under the direction of Rafik Hubert Sabbagh. From the outset, the FQD has pursued the mission of democratizing contemporary dance in all its forms and making it more accessible to the broadest possible audience. Presented in both traditional and—very often—atypical venues, the festival features multidisciplinary shows that masterfully integrate dance into art installations, films, exhibits and a range of other forms, each one adding a unique dynamic to the artists’ performances.
Firmly believing that dance is a universal language, the Festival Quartiers Danses (FQD) offers an inclusive platform for all artists in the field. From emerging talents to established choreographers, creators of contemporary dance are invited to showcase styles and cultures from around the world during this event dedicated to dance in all its forms. The Festival presents both original premieres and reworked or evolving pieces, offering artists a living laboratory for new stage experiences.
