Just For Laughs MONTRÉAL presents hundreds of free outdoor activities alongside 250 shows in 25 downtown venues, including several in the halls of Place des Arts. It has become the world’s biggest comedy festival, attracting nearly two million visitors. With performances in both English and French (under Juste pour rire), it brings together some 1,700 artists from 19 countries. The festival’s goal? To make people happy!

Hosted by top comedic talent from around the world, each Just For Laughs Gala features a curated mix of global stars and breakout voices from across the comedy spectrum. Taped live at Théâtre Maisonneuve, these shows capture the electric energy, sharp writing, and international flair that have made JFL a premier comedy destination for fans and industry alike.

It should come as no surprise to learn that Just For Laughs (JFL) Montreal is the world’s largest comedy festival: from July 16 to 27, some 1,700 artists, actors, comedians, and other showbiz pros will take over the Quartier des Spectacles.
