Montréal en Lumière takes on a big challenge each year: getting people outdoors in the middle of winter! The festival delivers thanks to an extremely varied program that combines gourmand discoveries with musical and cultural events in the heart of the city. Activities culminate in the iconic Nuit Blanche, the “all-nighter,” which brings together people from all over for dusk-to-dawn celebrations downtown.

An event that warms the Québec winter
For 25 years now, Montréal en Lumière has featured winter programming that celebrates the season so closely associated with Québec. It includes a wide variety of events—over 100 each year—held throughout downtown. Over that quarter-century, the popularity of this festival has continued to grow, with the milestone of more than one million attendees reached for the first time in 2014. The festival has welcomed some 700 performers and other guests from five continents over the years and more than 225 restaurants have contributed to its tasty offerings. No wonder Montréal en Lumière is one of the city’s most popular events of the year among foodies!
