August 13 to 17, 2025
Organized by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, the Virée classique is an annual event for classical music lovers. The program features a diverse lineup of indoor concerts, along with free activities open to all.
For this 12th edition inspired by Nature, the OSM Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Rafael Payare, will be joined by world-renowned artists—pianist Martin Helmchen, cellist Marie-Elisabeth Hecker, mezzo-soprano Beth Taylor—as well as Canadian artists, including OSM Concertmaster Andrew Wan, conductor Dina Gilbert, and the Ensemble Obiora. Also taking part in this immensely unifying celebration of music are several young, emerging musicians, OSM Competition winners, and, of course, amateur musicians.
A true festival of free activities
In addition to concerts, a plethora of completely free, Nature-themed activities await you! Discover and experience music in inviting and convivial settings with a host of activities and concerts for the whole family, relaxation zones, musical games, workshops, encounters with artists, and concerts by community ensembles and rising talents.
