Presented by the Phoenix Artistic Troupe of Canada, the 2026 Chinese New Year Gala, titled Homeland, is a cross-cultural, emotionally resonant stage production that bridges traditional and contemporary artistic expressions.
The gala will feature over a hundred professional artists, featuring classical Chinese dance, ballet, music, vocal performance, martial arts, traditional Chinese instruments, drama, and visual arts. Highlights include a fusion of Peking Opera with Western classical ballet, original choreographies inspired by Chinese martial arts, and modern interpretations of ethnic minority folk traditions. The original dance drama “Chinatown” will serve as the gala’s emotional centerpiece, using poetic choreography and dramatic language to portray real stories of resilience and belonging in a multicultural world.
