Theatre Workshops

Bringing emotions to life by creating a direct connection with the audience

The theatre workshops from the Adaptive Arts Program allow participants to explore theatrical expression through acting techniques and performance, or to bring a text to life through movement.

2026-2027 workshops

Choose from two theatre exploration and creation workshops.
  • Theatrical expression

    For youth and adults

    Workshops that explore the physical side of theatre, inspired by visual and sound elements. Participants will be invited to build a space to connect with others, express themselves, be creative and grow through theatre.

  • Words and movement

    For adults

    Activities that introduce participants to the art of creative storytelling. Throughout the workshops, they’ll explore a range of inspiring sources—like paintings and music—and will bring their stories to life by blending different art forms.

  • Marionnettes

    For adults

    Workshops to explore a variety of puppetry styles—from traditional techniques to contemporary approaches—and create a short story through improvisation.

The public performances will take place at Salon urbain at Place des Arts.

  • For youth: series of 7 workshops

    • Tuesdays, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

      March 11 to April 22, 2027

    For adults: series of 6 workshops

    • Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
      October 28 to December 9, 2026
      Public performance: December 2, 2026 (during the Place à l’Art adapté event)

      Public performance: May 18, 2027

  • For adults: series of 6 workshops

    • Thuesdays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
      October 27 to December 8, 2026

    • Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
      January 21 to February 25, 2027

Free registration

Target audience

  • Youth groups: young people aged 7 to 18 with motor, sensory, cognitive or psychological limitations or disabilities.

  • Adult groups: individuals aged 18 and over with motor, sensory, cognitive or psychological limitations or disabilities, or those experiencing social and cultural exclusion (e.g. French language learners, newcomers).

Requirements

  • Open to schools and organizations

  • Participants must be accompanied by at least one staff member from the school or organization

  • 10 to 20 participants per group
