Our new gift cards are a gateway to a world of beauty, discovery, and escape for your loved ones. All the lucky recipients have to do is choose among more than 500 shows presented at Place des Arts every year: classical music, jazz, theater from here and abroad, contemporary dance and ballet, musicals, comedy, opera, and much more!

As paper gift certificates are equivalent to cash, we absolutely need to receive your physical copy. Two options are available to redeem them for show or parking tickets:
On site at the box office
- Bring your gift certificate to the box office to purchase tickets on site.
By telephone or online
- Purchase tickets by phone or online using your credit card.
- Prior to or on the date of your show, bring your gift certificate to the box office, along with the credit card used for the purchase, and we will reimburse you for the value of the certificate.
Gift certificates do not have an expiry date, even though they may mention a specific timespan.

From the Place des Arts website. You will then be redirected to our partner’s website to complete the transaction.

Activate a gift card
The recipient of the gift card will receive an email with an activation code and a link to activate it. Once activated, a credit will appear in the recipient’s Place des Arts customer account.
Redeem a gift card
When buying tickets through the Place des Arts website, a buyer must check the box provided to use the credit.
The gift card balance will be used towards the total purchase amount.

No, only one gift card can be purchased per transaction. Also, it can only be sent to one recipient.

The virtual gift card will be emailed to the recipient within minutes after the purchase transaction is completed.
The buyer will also receive a purchase confirmation by email at the same time.

You cannot change the recipient’s email address once the transaction is complete. The buyer must ensure that the correct email address has been entered before sending the gift card.
If the recipient does not receive the email, you can contact the Place des Arts Box Office at 514 842-2112 / 1 866 842-2112 (toll-free) for assistance.
Place des Arts assumes no responsibility for any errors in entering a recipient’s email address when purchasing a virtual gift card.

You can check the balance of any previously activated virtual gift card in the credit section of your Place des Arts customer account.

The value of the gift card can be used partially or in full when making a purchase, depending on its amount.
If the gift card balance covers the entire purchase amount, the full balance will be applied. If there is a remaining balance on the gift card, it will be held for a future purchase.

No. For the moment, only Canadian or US phone numbers are accepted for purchasing gift cards.
If you have a phone number from another country, you can contact the Place des Arts box office at 514-842-2112 to purchase a physical gift certificate.

No, gift cards do not have an expiry date. They remain valid until the balance is depleted.

Yes, with the exception of subscriptions with Duceppe, Les Grands Ballets, the Opéra de Montréal, and the Orchestre Métropolitain. You can purchase subscription tickets directly from their box offices.
However, it is possible to purchase individual tickets for these companies' shows with a gift card.
