Many superlatives have qualified the playing of French pianist Alexandre Kantorow, revealed to the world upon his triumph at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019, at just 22 years of age: virtuosity, beauty, elegance. Fanfare magazine speaks of him as a “reincarnated Liszt,” Diapason proclaims him “the new star of the piano”! His first two concerts in Canada take place in Lanaudière: a solo piano recital—a program dedicated to Liszt and his expressive genius—and a lieder recital with baritone Matthias Goerne, the following day.
