This exceptional evening brings to life the perfect symbiosis between the magical fingers of Omar Bashir, a distinguished bearer of Mesopotamia’s rich musical legacy, and the soulful voice of Jahida Wehbe, a true embodiment of classical and contemporary Arabic poetic song. These two great artists invite audiences to follow the routes of peoples, languages, and instruments: from ancient caravans to modern diasporas, from Eastern modes to the ornamentation of song, from nomadic rhythms to the spirit of flamenco, passing through Romani music and the many musical practices that have gathered, transformed, and carried these resonances forward.
