Between grounded roots and virtuosity, this evening features Ivanie Aubin Malo with an Indigenous-rooted vision, emerging artist Zachary Bastille and Pauline Gervais in contemporary poetry.

Echoing the spirit of Festival Quartiers Danses, the opening night celebrates choreographic diversity through Indigenous roots, contemporary writing and classical flight, with choreographers Barbara Diabo, Charles Brecard and Étienne Gagnon-Delorme of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.

Writer and performer Ivan Coyote has crafted a playlist of stories that sing to us about how they managed to discover a coded but very possible queer future hidden in the music coming out of the AM radio in the kitchen, lurking in their parent’s record collection, and leaking out of the lyrics in their elementary school musical.
