Internationally famed soloist Hilary Hahn comes to Montreal to perform with the OSM under Rafael Payare in Dvořák’s bravura-filled, Eastern European-accented, and powerfully melodic Violin Concerto. Brahms was another composer who drew extensively from Eastern European folklore, and with his Second Symphony he continued to develop a genre of which he was to become one of the undisputed masters by the end of the 19th century.
