Manor Farm is in crisis. The animals have driven out their master and taken control of their own destiny. For better or for worse?
An adaptation of George Orwell's famous 1945 novel Animal Farm: A Fairy Story, this staging explores the farm through the eyes of the animals.
Here, there is no prairie and no little house either. The animals are workers in a food factory set within a brutal, unsanitary, and industrial world, where the pigs, among the most exploited, become the leaders of a utopian movement that goes terribly wrong.
The play explores the essential themes of authoritarianism, populism, and crowd manipulation. These echo history from the 20th century to the present day, proving, if proof were still needed, that while technology has evolved, the old playbooks haven't changed.
