Taking place just a few days before the third edition of the Micro ouvert autochtone event, this discussion (in French) will focus on cultural leadership among First Nations peoples. Transference is in fact an important value among the Indigenous and Inuit people, and the notion of “passing down” to others is fundamental to furthering the richness of their culture and their ancestral knowledge.
Moderated by Catherine Perrin, this discussion brings together Nina Segalowitz, artist and curator of the 2023 Micro ouvert autochtone; Melissa Mollen Dupuis, author, filmmaker, and presenter; André Dudemaine, Artistic Director of Land InSights; and Stanley Vollant, surgeon, professor, and lecturer.
Place des Arts’ Entretiens arts et société are free events, open to one and all. They feature lively discussions, inspired by shows and activities presented at Place des Arts, or by other topical issues.
A Q&A session with the audience will follow the discussion!
