Following her acclaimed performance of La Détresse et l’enchantement, the actress returns to Gabrielle Roy’s literary world, accompanied by writer Dominique Fortier, whose insight has helped shape the artistic conception of this new production.

Directed by Denis Marleau, performed by Pascale Drevillon and featuring a video creation by Stéphanie Jasmin, this interior monologue becomes a stage experience of rare intensity, where literature and the visual arts engage in a powerful dialogue.

Upon the priest’s death, two graves were dug: one on each side of the cemetery fence. For three days and three nights of vigil over the body, the entire village had to debate on which side he would be laid to rest: in consecrated ground or on the other side.
