A historic milestone in space exploration since the Apollo program.

This Grande rencontre is an event by the Chamber of commerce of Metropolitan Montreal co-developped with the Canadian Space Agency.

A historic mission

In April 2026, the Artemis II crew flew around the far side of the Moon, the first human journey this far into space in more than fifty years. This mission marks a major milestone in human space exploration and opens the door to a new era of innovation and discovery.

This unique event offers the business community and the public in Montréal the opportunity to hear directly from the Artemis II astronauts as they share their experience.

Innovation, impact, and Canada’s leadership

Having two CSA astronauts contribute so directly to Artemis II highlights the skills of Canada’s astronaut corps and the strength of our country’s expertise in space. Their involvement is the culmination of decades of contributions and investments, proving that Canadian expertise has been instrumental to space exploration. It also serves as a reminder of the vital role our country will continue to play as humanity moves toward the next frontier of exploration.

A strategic international collaboration

For decades, Canadian technology and expertise have helped drive international space exploration, and the Artemis II mission builds on this legacy.

The collaboration for this mission highlights the importance of international alliances in achieving ambitious space missions and reinforces Canada’s leadership in this field.
