This is an odyssey celebrating the musical heritage of a foundational land, the cradle of civilizations. Between the Tigris and the Euphrates, lyres, harps, flutes, percussion, songs, rituals, and stories have shaped a sonic imagination whose echoes have travelled across the centuries.

At the heart of ASHWAAQ, the words of the great philosopher and Sufi mystic Ibn Arabi become breath, vibration, and passage. Amir ElSaffar explores the universal power of love, the inner quest, and the search for unity within the diversity of the world.
