Monique Désy Proulx presents her latest album, Les herbes folles, a collection of songs written over time that reflect her journey as an artist and a woman. Accompanied on piano and vocals by virtuoso double bassist Étienne Lafrance, and clarinetist and vocalist Hélène Liessens, Monique tells her story.

From the exile of an Acadian grandmother to the welcoming of a newborn by benevolent fairies, through childhood memories, joyful evocations, and disappointed loves, Monique's songs are always moving and often cheerful. Her music draws on influences from jazz, traditional, gypsy, tango, and classical music.

The album was recorded in Montreal in 2025, with Monique on piano and vocals, double bassist Étienne Lafrance, clarinetist and backing vocalist Hélène Liessens, percussionist Adam Gagné, and accordionist Luzio Altobelli. The performance offered on stage is a trio.
