Be part of a modern and high-spirited evening of country music on Friday, September 12, with choreographer Kathy Maguire, ALICE, and DJ Clémentine.

Straddling folk, rock, and pop, the contemporary country scene is in full swing and is reinventing itself today to attract an ever-wider audience.

Dancing, from 6 p.m.: Kathy Maguire

Country dance is a dynamic form of social dancing that originated in the United States. It is often practiced in groups, in synchronized lines (line dancing), to traditional or modern country music. Rhythmic, accessible, and friendly, it combines stepping, pivots, and foot taps, creating a unique atmosphere imbued with collective energy and community spirit.

Music, from 7 p.m.: ALICE

ALICE, aka Alice Tougas St-Jak, is a Canadian musician who played accordion and sang with the folk band Canailles from 2010 to 2019. Since then, she has been a solo act, drawing on country, soul, and classic rock, accompanying her sentimental stories on the Wurlitzer, an instrument she cherishes. Self-taught, she has co-composed and recorded five titles, surrounding herself with musicians from the Montreal scene at Litesdown and Greenroom Studios. ALICE delivers groovy and moving songs, illustrating her stories and expressing her love for vintage musical textures.

On the decks, from 8:30 p.m.: DJ Clémentine

A young, budget Francine Grimaldi, Clémence is a beverage enthusiast who doesn’t hydrate enough and a cowgirl who doesn’t like horses. She delivers the soundtrack to a summer where anything is possible, driven by passion. Armed with banjos, acrylic nails, broken hearts, and lassos, her cowgirls and cowboys take you on a rodeo free of animal cruelty, where we ride our high horses and soar down the open road leading to Nashville... or Miami Beach!
