The global sensation is taking Montréal by storm!

K-pop's popularity has hit new heights so of course TEMPÉO has organized an amazing night to showcase this genre.

Dive into the fascinating world of K-pop at Alex Francoeur’s commercial dance workshop, followed by performances by East2West and 2KSQUAD, before setting the dance floor on fire to the electrifying mixes crafted by DJ Seolying.

K-pop took off in the 1990s thanks to the group Seo Taiji and Boys, who blended a variety of musical styles like rock, hip-hop, and techno – all with a uniquely Korean sound!

Dancing, from 6 p.m.: Alex Francoeur

The evening launches with an interactive workshop led by Alex Francoeur, who’s excited to teach you some simple yet impressive dance moves. Commercial dance styles are based on the routines of the industry’s biggest stars and are known for their energy and accessibility. This style of dance isn’t just a performance; it’s an invitation to get moving!

Alex Francoeur has choreographed productions in Canada, the United States, and Europe, including En direct de l’univers and La Soirée Mammouth. This summer, he was tasked with choreographing the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony: some well-deserved acclaim for this artist, who first came to the public’s attention in 2019 with the popular TV show Révolution.

Performance, from 7 p.m.: East2West and 2KSQUAD

East2West is a Montréal-based performance crew consisting of more than a dozen artists passionate about dance, performance, and Korean culture. They want to use their breathtaking, dynamic performances to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western cultures. Last year, they won the Golden Buzzer on the Québec reality TV show Quel talent!.

Next up, 2KSQUAD will wow audiences with their original choreographies. Their visual stories turn each performance into a one-of-a-kind experience. Deeply rooted in the Montréal community, the 2KSQUAD troupe lets audiences enjoy a fun, interactive experience, with performances where everyone is the hero.

DJ set, from 8:30 p.m.: DJ Seolying

Pump up the energy and party on! Resident DJ for Kpop Club Night since 2019, Seolying is a popular figure in both the U.S. and Canada. Originally from Toronto, she’s been steeped in K-pop since early childhood and pays tribute to this culture through her sets. Ever-attentive to her audience, DJ Seolying will be spinning tracks from K-pop’s various golden eras, from classics to recent remixes. Her high-energy sets are a great way to wrap up TEMPÉO’s fourth night!
