Loui Mauffette touches down at Cinquième Salle in Place des Arts with his new poetic palpitations: Ô LOUP!

An invitation to the heart of a torrent of emotions and reflections from a singer-actor who just won’t stop surprising us! 

​​Montreal, January 8, 2025 – In collaboration with La maison fauve, Place des Arts is pleased to be presenting Loui Mauffette’s most recent show, Ô LOUP!, which gathers together the poetic palpitations he’s known for. This new creation was first staged at the Lion d’​O​​r​ during the Festival international de la littérature (FIL) in the fall of 2022, and returns to the Cinquième Salle at Place des Arts, from February 6 to 8, 2025.​

Normally surrounded by 20 or so artists, this time he’s going with an almost solo fable. Almost solo, because he couldn’t resist the idea of appearing in the company of some of his favorite ghosts, here embodied by loyal accomplices: Maxime Denommée, Catherine De Léan, Patricia Nolin and Gilles Renaud. In the course of what he calls his “poetic palpitations,” he’ll serve up poetry with readings of texts from a wide range of backgrounds and trends. He’ll also be treating us to a few of his favorite songs as well as some old LPs waiting to be given a bit of attention, flights of the imagination, or some fresh sparkle. More than ever he comes off here as the true heir of his father, the late actor, poet and radio personality Guy Mauffette. And all of this not for nostalgia’s sake, but out of a desire to get reacquainted, to enjoy and to celebrate!
