Experience Opera McGill’s mainstage production of Benjamin Britten’s compelling chamber opera The Rape of Lucretia, performed with the McGill Symphony Orchestra.

This fully staged presentation—artistically led by Stephen Hargreaves and Patrick Hansen and featuring full sets, costumes, and lighting—serves as a capstone educational experience, showcasing the emerging artistry of students from the Schulich School of Music.

Britten’s haunting score and Ronald Duncan’s intimate libretto confront themes of power, morality, and justice through a distilled and emotionally charged narrative. This production brings the work’s dramatic and musical complexity into focus while highlighting the depth, professionalism, and creativity of the next generation of performers.
