A rare opportunity to experience iconic performances by the folk music duo and by composer Joseph Marchand, showcasing his new instrumental album Treize miniatures

Corail is a Montreal duo whose folk sounds are inspired by the 1970s. Consisting of Julien Comptour and Philippe Noël, the duo showcases its sincere and touching collaborative spirit through guitar melodies and perfectly paired voices delivering powerful lyrics, filled with imagery. After putting out a first independent album titled Maison in the fall of 2023 and a collaborative EP with Vanille in the spring of 2024 on the Bonbonbon label, Corail is getting ready to release its impactful second album, from which several tracks will be performed during this show for the Les Veillées series.

Composer, producer, and musician Joseph Marchand is well-known on the music and audiovisual scenes and has collaborated with the band Corail. Having worked with such renowned artists as Pierre Lapointe, Ariane Moffatt, Daniel Bélanger, Safia Nolin, and Marie-Pierre Arthur, he is a frequent ADISQ nominee and a three-time Félix Award winner for albums he has produced. On his brand-new instrumental album, Treize miniatures, he uses the 13 tracks to explore the minimalist language shaped by the very essence of his instrument: the guitar.

After the show, stay around for a special chat with the artists.
