On September 11 and 12, 2021, Place des Arts and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Maison symphonique de Montréal with a series of ten free short concerts and four discussions. Discover the exceptional acoustics of the Maison symphonique with Les Violons du Roy, who propose to take you on a short trip through Italian Baroque music, from its beginnings to its peak, via works from two of its most famous representatives, Corelli and Vivaldi, plus a moving serenade from one of the first professional female composers in the history of music, cantatrice Barbara Strozzi, the daughter of a poet who set many of her father’s texts to music. For this occasion, soprano Myriam Leblanc, a sometime soloist with Les Violons du Roy and sometime chorister with La Chappelle de Quebec, will be accompanied by several musicians from the ensemble.
