The Opéra de Montréal invites you to join baritone Pierre Rancourt and pianist Polina Gubnitskaia in exploring the secrets of the operatic voice in an interactive workshop that anyone can join.
Through demonstrations, anecdotes, and vocal exercises, the artists will help you discover the particularities of singing opera: voice projection, breathing, musical expression, and the art of telling a story through song.
The highlight: participants will learn to perform one of the most famous arias in the operatic repertoire, the “Toreador Song” from the opera Carmen. Accompanied on piano, participants will experience the joy of singing this great classic together in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
No musical experience required. Come find your voice!
