A concert is always a quest: a search for an ideal light born from the intense encounter between artists who come together for only a few rehearsals. This same search for light runs through the entire program.
For this "matinee" version program, Elysium, premiered in 2021, Samy Moussa explores an inner, spiritual radiance inspired by the sacred realm of Greek mythology, a place of peace and transcendence. In contrast, Stravinsky’s The Firebird, first performed in Paris in 1910 by the Ballets Russes, ignites light from the shimmering feathers of its legendary, fiery creature. All of it unfolds in a blazing orchestral display under the direction of Rafael Payare.
