A unique opportunity to discover a rising star on the comedy scene. In the classroom, introduce your students to the fundamentals of comedy writing.
As part of our Education program, Douaa Kachache will present a show at the iconic Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier that transforms your students’ everyday lives into a moment of pure joy and laughter. Following the 60-minute performance, the artist will take part in a discussion with students and answer their questions.
After making the leap into comedy in 2021, this former teacher with a teenage spirit decided to fully pursue her passion. She has made a name for herself online and on the radio, but it’s on stage that she truly wins audiences over. With her contemporary voice and magnetic presence, she feels like the friend—or the cool teacher—everyone wishes they had! In addition to hosting the popular Les jeudis de l’humour nights at Brouhaha, she performs regularly at Bordel Comédie Club and shines at festivals such as Juste pour rire, Zoofest, ComediHa! and the Festival d’humour émergent en Abitibi-Témiscamingue. She is currently opening for François Bellefeuille on tour, as well as for artists such as Rachid Badouri and Liliane Blanco-Binette.
In-class workshops
To introduce students to the artistic discipline featured in the show (comedy), our school program includes one or two workshops, depending on your preference, led at your school by an experienced artist-mediator. Two workshops are recommended to explore the topic in greater depth.
In connection with the performance, the workshops introduce students to the craft through comedy writing, while also exploring improvisation and the use of humour in everyday life. They will discover comedic techniques before trying their hand at stand-up.
