Experience the rhythmic and socially engaged art of rap on stage with Rymz. In the classroom, students explore rap and hip-hop writing through workshops.
As part of our Education program, Rymz will present an intense, dynamic performance at the iconic Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, designed to captivate your students from beginning to end. Blending standout tracks, new songs and moments of improvisation with the audience, Vivre à mourir is a powerful reminder of why Rymz remains one of the most distinctive and compelling voices in Quebec rap. Following the 60-minute performance, the artist will take part in a discussion with students and answer their questions.
Recognized for his commitment to young people and his empathetic approach as a psychosocial practitioner, Rymz began his career as a rapper before turning to education. Influenced by leading figures on the French rap scene, he has developed projects that bridge rap and education, and was among the first Quebec rappers to perform in Europe and appear at major festivals.
Rymz is currently touring across Quebec with Vivre à mourir, his fifth solo project and a true commercial success. The album earned him his first radio airplay and a notable appearance on Tout le monde en parle. On stage, he delivers an energetic yet intimate performance featuring his most memorable tracks, accompanied by a DJ and a guitarist.
In-class workshops
To introduce students to the artistic disciplines featured in the show (rap and hip-hop), our school program includes one or two workshops, depending on your preference, led at your school by an experienced artist-mediator. Two workshops are recommended to explore the topic in greater depth.
In connection with the performance, the workshops introduce students to rap (rhythm and poetry) and hip-hop writing, highlighting their role as powerful forms of cultural and creative expression. Students are first invited to explore lexical fields, then to play with words and take the mic to perform a text over beats.
In-class workshop period: January 5 to April 30, 2027
Duration: 75 minutes
Maximum capacity: 40 students
Location: in the classroom (except for schools outside the Greater Montreal area)
