The concert begins with a short yet deeply moving work by the conductor’s favourite composer, Brahms’s Tragic Overture. Following this, the stage will welcome long-time OM collaborator and internationally celebrated soloist Jean-Guihen Queyras. Together, they take on Dvořák’s breathtaking Cello Concerto, considered by many to be the instrument’s most challenging piece.
